In the USA its 21 for handguns and 18 for rifles.

Of course state statutes can change the requirements and ability to own

just make sure you move to the south. most states north of the mason dixon line have way too many gun restrictions.

I myself do not own any firearms (yet), although my dad owns a 12-gauge pump-action shotgun, a Winchester 30/30, a Remington .22 caliber and a Mosin Nagant (1891 Russian rifle).

Once I have the money and a steady income, though, I'll be purchasing a shotgun (a smaller pump-action one made with plastic instead of wood: I find wood too heavy and unattractive) and probably at least one pistol.

Heh, that is indeed rather funny, comming from me, I'm sure. But those are the weapons that my dad has purchased over several years; he is by no means a gun enthuisiast.

I myself am planning on purchasing only around 2 arms separately for myself. I have grown rather tired of just rifles, and although it is not imperative to own any firearms, I will feel comfortable with a simple shotgun and handgun for home defense and perhaps target practice. Who knows when they will come in handy. :uhm:

i only own two air rifles but plan on real rifles later on.

simple .22s are fun and very cheap to shoot and maintain. what im looking at currently. i just love target shooting.
