So the darkness is here, the cold is here, the miserable weather, and for the last few days I've found myself sleeping for 10-12 hours at a time, waking up for the odd time here and there, but I generally just don't want to wake up in the winter.

Cause it's shite.

Should humans be allowed to hibernate? Between October and March we should just sleep and wake only to feed and shit and then just sleep sleep and more sleep.

I reckon we are doing it wrong.

It does not really matter THAT much to me. Apart from work, or guitar stuff, I never leave the house. Due to that heat has little impact on my day to day life.

I dunno, given we are exactly two months away from Christmas Day, I'd call it winter.

Come to where I live for a winter vacation (or Australia since that's infinitely better for you). We have a literal, infernal, never ending summer. There is no such thing as spring or autumn here. The temperature dips to a little below 10 degrees C at most and averages around what you can get with a freakin' A/C for like 1-2 months around new year.

Even though the calendar says Winter officially starts sometime around December 20th, I personally consider it to start sometime in November. When exactly all depends on when daytime temperatures are consistently at about 0c.

As for right now, days are hovering at about 10c, so I still consider this to be Autumn.

That said, this is the time of year to switch on the heater. I frequently find the house being so cold, that I do NOT want to get out of bed. I need a tall mug of hot chocolate, just to get me going.

The days are long, cold, and miserable no matter the season.

It's dark when I leave the house to go to work and it's dark when I get home. :cort: I suspect the minutes of natural light I get can be counted in minutes rather than hours.
