When you walk in a street you may notice some people asking money for some good cause like for fighting against poverty or promoting human rights in the world. But have you donated money to charity, what kind of charities do you prefer? Is charity an effective way to help or even solve big issues such as poverty?

Donating to charity isn't as effective as giving it to the people who need it, but sometimes I do, mainly UNICEF or something. Apparently, the American Red Cross turned down a 1 million donation for the Dixie Chicks, which seems too blatantly political. For Chrissakes, 1 million dollars, turned down because they criticized Bush...
I haven't donated... Not willingly anyway.
I've never thought it to be satisfying to give money away. I find more satisfaction in supplying my own needs.
I have given money to charity, and beggars and so on, because I am a little naive...And I usually don't mind, unless its the following cases: -I don't have any money on me, and they are not being nice -If they want the damn bank account and a regular subscription. Damnit...why do they bug you on forever about that? Why cant they just collect like normal people in a little box! Annoys me beyond words. -Another thing is collection by sects for "good causes". These actually may be brilliant causes, but the fact that they are collected by a sect that has a bad reputation, annoys me.

I give any small change I have in my wallet for normal donation boxes, as well as a regular $20 a month to Greenpeace.
If its a special day - like Daffodil Day - then I'll normally buy one of the things.
I usually give the Salvation Army people a handful of change in the Holiday season, and even then, usually only when the person is cute. Last year I flirted with the girl for a good five minutes before depositing some $10 in change into the box thingy. The reason being I normally spend bills, in order to avoid counting change then and there in line while I shop.

Ha! Not likely! I stay as far away as I can from that sort of hypocrisy.
Im sure most everyone has given a little money to charity in some form or another...Seriously, its pretty hard to avoid....Like at the gas station or fast food place, when a person gets back little to nothing change and places it in a donation box...or buying certain things to support something a person had no idea about.
Yep of course. I take about $5-7 out of my allowance.Or money I received for my birthday or Christmas I donate about $10. It all gose to the Humain Scociety and the city Zoo, wich helps animals.
I donate when I can. I'm from a rather poor family myself, so I can't donate as much as the next person could.
That said, being from the lower-class, I know what it's like to have to rely on charity organizations, etc., and so I feel empathetic to the needy, and maybe even a little indebted to charity organizations.
