I'd say broadband since with dial-up, it may take a few weeks just to get to what you were looking for. Personally, I prefer once a week as opposed to really long load times.

Dial-up is all but useless on the modern internet. As HairySheep said, you'd probably get more done once a week on broadband than you would all week on dial-up.

It's a pretty shitty choice to have to make. I'd go with the broadband, though.

By the way...it's not really "unlimited" if you only have access to it on Friday nights.

Yeah it is a shit choice to make but I'd probably also go with the broadband for the reasons other people have said. Dial-up is just too slow now. You would get more done with the broadband than you would with dial-up in a week.

You could always sign up to a pay-as-you-go dial-up service for use at home, just so you could occasionally check your e-mail and visit the occasional website or forum when you're at home, and use broadband for all the mean, hard core work. At least that way you wouldn't be completely cut off from the world, although you would have to be careful not to use the dial-up very much (as if you could) to keep the cost down.
