Ok, for those of you who don't know what a satire is, google it, for those who do, and are imaginative, i need you to help me. Today, out of nowhere, my teacher assigns us a 2 page(double spaced) satire to write, but, for some reason, i can't think of anything, so, i'll give all of you a couple hours to give me some ideas. :p
well... that is a cool assignment(as far as assignments go). how about "An Atheist Couple at Christmas", or "A Pimps View on Equal Opportunity. you could write about (if you really want to be a smart ass) how prayer is banned in school, but not christmas.

Just take something that evokes strong emotions, for example politics, or religion, as jaximus suggested. It would also help if you know a few things about the topics you want to write about. The more detailed your knowledge, the more twists of fate and paradoxes you will find and those are easy to use in a satire.
And maybe a brief outline of your idea.
oha!... come on now. I seriously doubt if anyone is gonna actualy help you write it. you got a brain man, get your write on. use that thing that comes up with all the game strategies.

Would you like a drink as well? ;)
If you make up your mind what you want to write about I'll think a bit if I remember anything ironical which could be used in your satire. But no promises, I've written only one or two myself and that was years ago.
Wanna go Double Dutch?

As Fancypants said Religion, Politics and world events are the way to go. What exactly is best left to yourself. But I guess you could write a good amount of stuff about Bush, Christmas and Religion. Or you could write something about how unoriginal it is to use those topics. ;)
Lol, well, what i wrote probably isn't going to be considered satire by my teacher, but, who cares, HERE IT IS!(also probably not school appropriate:))
Jaymes Widman 12/13/05 Period 4 Stupid Satire
Steroid Baseball Star
One day, Billy noticed he had never hit a home run before. Everyday, he watched as Johnny, Timmy, and Tommy belted them over the fence and beyond. The first homerun Johnny hit went straight into Bobby
And what grade are you in? You know, people usually write that in 4th grade.... Posting it on the forums would be an insult, not to mention handing it over to your teacher. From your first post, it looks like you know what satire is, but you don't look like you do. If you wait around, I might give you a good example when I get home.......
Ok, so obviously your sentence cannot be considered satire by anyone. Also its not considered using any kind of literary devices and in other words its considered being crap.
You have to understand that in order to write a good satire essay, you must use two points. One to point out the satire, and one to point out your real intent how it reflects to the real world.
Of course, you first need to know what satire is. Satire is a form of expression where you ridiculate things, and manipulate literarature to a degree that interests the reader, with the intent of pointing out something that is the opposite of the satire itself.
A good example would be something like this:
The satire: Nuking Iraq. Irony: At present, a bomb is blowing up almost every day, with the years adding up to more damage then a nuke would result. Point: Iraq is doing bad and a change must take place.
Now, that is very complex to argue and make the element of satire work good. However, a good writter would achieve it.
A much easier example would be:
The satire: Eating the slaves at the time slavetrades took place. This would of course benefit us because we would aquire very cheap food. Irony: The way we treated the slaves resulted very similar to frying them and eating them. In the end, we used them, and when they were useless tried to get rid of them. Now theres a lot of stuff on that which you could use. Point: When you use history, is harder to make a point then it is when your using actual events. Because the history is already there, you can't change. So I would argue how the way they were treated resulted in what your satire is.
The main thing of a good satire essay is the element of irony.
