I would like to know how to mod. If someone could tell me what tools I need to make new models for ships, and how to alter hardpoint files. I would build some new ships that havnt been done yet. Or at least, done with quality and canon.

Ships on my to-do list.

1. Hedeki cardassian ship. 2. Peregrine tac fighter. 3. Borg lifeboat. 4. The reman warbird Scimitar (when I get reliable pictures of what it LOOKS like.) 5. Babylon 5 star fury (Very cool ship.) 6. Indepenence day attacker!!! 7. Nx-01 8. Vulcan D'kyer (Shockwave prt II) 9. Sulibon cell ship 10. Data's scout!

Show me and I will build. If I build them, they will come.

Hello,

The programs you need to make a completely new model are: 1. The SDK tools (well at least the Model Property Editor, you will require this if you wish to edit mods, togetter with notepad and Paint Shop Pro (this is for editting textures)). 2. A 3D Studio Max 3.x it is also said that you can use gmax, but I don't do new models. 2b. If you use 3D Studio Max 4 or higher you need a program called nif2nif (if I remmember correctly, but as I said: I don't do new models). 3. BC Mod Packager. 4. A program like Paint Shop Pro. 5. A program like notepad (Personel File Editor is my best choice). 6. A lot of creativity. 7. A lot of patience.

If you have anymore questions about scripting, just ask. But don't ask me anything about making new models, becaus I don't know anything about that.

Thanks for your help buddy. Im a first timer so it might be a while before I can even figure out how to install the bloody things lol.

I believe the scout you are refering to, if it's the one from insurrection during the capture data scene, it is called a Venture class.

first of all: sorry! You can download the SDK from BCFiles.com just type in in the search option SDK and you will have it! For Gmax I'm not sure, because I don't use tools like that. If I remmember correctly it is http://www.discreet.com/products/gmax/. I hope this helps.

Venture class isnt accepted as canon.

Although everyone calls it that. The name is based on a game, which is not canon to begin with.

There are a lot of things that aren't 'canon' but are accepted as right..such as the Sovereing's length, or the phaser armourment of the Galaxy..Venture-class is the generally accepted name for 'Data's Scout'.
