I believe when a person dies they go to sleep and don't wake up. I imagine death like enjoying a good sleep so much that you just can't bring yourself out of it. Like being woke up by an alarm clock at 5am on a winter morning. I have trouble believing an afterlife exists. Reincarnation doesn't seem to plausible to me either.

I think your body becomes food for the worms, and your thoughts just cease.

Just today I was talking about this at work.

I said that death scares me, and I still say it now. The thought of my body just lying there lifeless and inanimate. People say its like going to sleep but how do they know unless they died? Its crazy, and depressing and scary to think about and I have no shame in admitting that.

Whilst I agree that the concept of death is a scary one, there isn't really any point in worrying about it. It is going to happen in the end anyway, and there is nothing anyone can do about it. Likewise, you can't predict when you are going to die (unless you jump from a high cliff or something, then chances are you'll realise on the way down). Nevertheless, if there is something 'after' then you'll know about it, and your worries will be over (for you will be somewhere else). If there isn't anything, then you aren't going to know about it, are you? - If there no nothing after death, then it doesn't matter as you aren't going to know if your dead. And in regards to worms eating your body, if your worried about that, just be fried in one of those big burners and then have your ashes scattered somewhere. :)

Everything that makes you you is in your body. When you die, your body stops working. With that in mind, I can't believe in any idea that a part of us continues to live after our bodies die. So, simply, when we die, we die - that's it. For me, the only thing scary about dying is leaving my loved ones to fend for themselves, and the fact that they'll be sad. I don't care, because I'll be dead.

I believe that too. I think the scary thing will be just not being.

what happens normally, your taken to the morgue, you have your blood drained for perseveration reasons, normally a wax face is made, based off a picture if your having a open casket, and then your chucked into the clay, the end, or you might be just cremated, then your just burned, that's about it.

Spider149;3565625I believe that too. I think the scary thing will be just not being.

Why is it scary? We won't be able to percieve the nothingness. It will merely be a sleep from which you don't wake up. Which means we have to live life to the full while we can. See this thread for what not to do: http://forums.filefront.com/showthread.php?t=304024
