so anyway, my friend got back from canada today, and we went out in about to cuase some trouble. well, we ended up going to this LAN station place. well, ive never been to one till today. whoa, it was awesome.

had games like JA2 (which ive only played for X-Box and a little on the computer) kicked my friends ass. :D gotta love force lighting and jump. id just jump over him and light him up as i went over. twas great.

after that, we set up a BF server and i showed him the ropes. had a bit of fun with that.

next came Counter Strike (omgzz111) which i had played only once before on X-box.. horrible for the X Box. well, there were 11 people on the server. more joined later. i had to change the controls because someone before me didint know how to play the right way; my way. *sigh* the bad controls killed me twice. anyway, i figured out what i was doing, not before getting my ass handed to me a few times. finally, we played this map, dont know what it is called, that looks like this:

{} {} {} {}

did really bad for a while. i didnt kill anybody for 3 rounds. but i got the hang of the weapons..and found the bad ones..very bad ones. got killed many times. killed a lot of people too. near the end i was really gettin into the groove.

the final score was terrorists(me+ who ever) 50 counter terrorists 15 i think. (my poor friend was on this team.)

then i got to do something ive wanted to do for a long time, play BGF1942 online without evil lag. i joined a 40 man game with 95 lag (not bad at all compared to what im used to) i died, got angry, respwned with a machine gun, and when on a 4 man killing streak. i was laughing so hard. i sniped one guy with the machine gun, unloaded a magazine at another, then another, then another. a grenade killed me though. but four guys isnt to bad in my oppinion. i thought it was funny that one guy was a sniper and aiming at me, yet i killed him with a BAR from a bit of a distance. poor fella was pwned. :)

do any of you guys go LAN gaming like this? i thought i walked into heaven when i saw those leather chairs that leaned back and all those other computer gamers that i would soon be killing. ;)

it was only 3 dollars an hour.. im definately going back...with a lot of money.

I play on LAN sometimes, though we set up our own LAN rather than find somewhere like the place you went to; I've never seen one round here to be honest.

thats a shame Matt. i set up a LAN at my friends house sometimes, but its a pain. its just so nice to walk into the place, slap 3 bucks on the table, have the dude tell you which computer to use, and go. so simple. so amazingly simple.

Slap what on the table? MONEY?! AGGHHH!

I'd rather use my own computer to be honest. Set up how I like it. That, and a LAN place might not serve alcohol . It's not so hard to set up a LAN really; it'll be even easier with my new computer. Aluminium case! LIGHT! Woo hoo!

I go to LAN's occasionally, haven't been in a while. It is good fun to beat your friends and strut your stuff :)

Yeah. Online gaming is all well and good, but where's the fun if they can't see you dancing on a table, waving your arms in their face?

I used to go to lan places before I got broadband but now when I have it I don't go so much. Now "homemade" lans are kick-ass. just gather 4-10 of your friends and set up your comps home at someone, it kicks ass!

Here in Sweden we have the worlds biggest lan, it's called Dreamhack, they arange it 2 times per year, but I havn't been there.

dreamhack0117.JPG021126_jolt.jpg Jolt cola for Dreamhack

What is DreamHack? DreamHack is the worlds largest LAN- and demoparty and is arranged by DreamHack Organizing. About 5000 people come together and bring their own computers to play games, code, compete, surf the Internet, chatt and much more during four days. DreamHack is always open, around the clock!

I thought TG held that record by adding seats when Dreamhack launched their "world largest" PR stunt.

LANs are fun, because the average online idiot doesn't go there. And even if he would, he wouldn't act like an idiot there, because you can just go over to the table next to you and beat him up.
