I speak English(American), and can understand simple German, is spoken slowly. Its good this is internmational forum, because in the US, you'd have, like, no 5s and only a few 4s. I'm saying that there is English, maybe Spanish(in south/west) or French(in north), then some Asian language(Filipino, Chinese, Hmong, Laotion, Vietnamese), generally to speak to parents.

Phoenix_22Wiener, i demand you say something!

Yes, please Wiener, we're all curious. :) I speak english and Swiss German fluently. Can barely write in German though. Took French in school but don't know very much. And I can almost read Dutch. A few more months on these forums and I should be able too.

Whoa, sorry. Missed that.

Ich bin mit Englisch und Deutsch aufgewachsen, und habe Französisch 5 1/2 Jahre in der Schule gelernt. Ich habe 3 Monate in Frankreich gearbeitet.

Dipship, du sprichst also Schweizer Deutsch?

So...yeah. I grew up with english and german, and learned french for 5 1/2 years in school. I even worked 3 months in France.

With these 3 languages I can make out most of what is said in Dutch. I might learn it one day, since it shouldn't be too hard for me.

I speak English and Dutch fluently (but I've lived in the US for quite a while, so I have an bad American accent when I speak Dutch. Nothing a few months in Holland wouldn't cure...) I can also speak enough Spanish to carry on a conversation, but not enough to comfortably get by in a Spanish-speaking country, so I don't really count it as a language I speak. Again, horrible accent.
