A topic brought up before, but not something I can find in the past few weeks here. If there's active discussion on this, please forgive me.
Which languages can you speak? And, which languages are you learning?
To answer my own question, I speak English and French. I'm still studying French and I'm also attempting to teach myself Finnish (I've put learning Swedish on a pause for now). I appreciate the difficulty of doing so, and it's getting hard to find online tuition at the level I'm at (Which is only just outside of the 'absolute beginner' category in which you understand a couple of words and freak out over the rest). I'm currently more interested in learning the grammatically correct, written form, from which the rest may be inferred. Which is pretty much how a language is typically taught in my experience.
So I was wondering a few things - Which languages do you speak, and where would you recommend learning it from?
I speak english as default :P
And i'm currently learning french and spanish at school will be dropping french soon though as it sucks though i'm proberly going to take spanish still
Danish, as my first language, then English...and then German, not much though, but I can understand most whats said to me. I can do a very ( and I mean very) little on Russian.
I'm sloooowly learning French. Languages aren't my forte, but it is part of my major that i take 3 semesters worth of foreign language. I doubt i'll switch languages to something else. French is the romance language.;)
Well, English is my first language, i also learnt to speak french and german at school
I speak and understand fluently: Swedish Danish English
I speak and understand Norwegian more or less fluently.
I speak some and I understand some German.
I speak English absolutely fluently, and have am reasonably fluent at Dutch (I can read, write, have a vocabulary slightly under expected for a Dutch teen my age) although I have a really noticeable American accent. I speak rudimentary Spanish, well enough to hold a slow conversation and generally get along in a city if I have to. Other than that, I know some very basic German (primarily from its similarity with Dutch) and a few loose words and phrases in Arabic.
