For you new members that don't know what school I attend, it's the one where child fondling has led to an arrest, the retirement of a football coach, and a "retire or be fired" ultimatum being handed to the university president.

Penn State Scandal Timeline: Key Dates In The Jerry Sandusky Sex Abuse Case

And on top of that, the Westboro Baptist Church is coming for a protest. God hates Joe Paterno? :clueless:

Penn State scandal 11/9 updates: (Unwanted) guests

The Westboro Baptist Church has confirmed via the organization's official website that the WBC will picket Saturday afternoon's Nebraska at Penn State game. The post on the WBC website reads " Now, Penn State has the wrath of God raining down on them in righteous judgement! They have taken from the playbook of the Catholics. Let's diddle the little kiddies and hide it from top to bottom! Fitting that the head cover-up artist is called the Pope of Happy Valley. How sick is that! Not surprising, but sick! College in this country is nothing more than a giant party, with a few classes set to instruct in sin thrown in for good measure. What you have turned out of those classes are raping priests, raping coaches, raping marines, along with various other violent dangerous brutes that are poised to be tomorrows 'heroes' in this vile land. Wake up! You have angered your God beyond recovery. More and worse is coming! America is doomed!"

Current weather: Fair. 57F (14 C). Nope, not raining God's judgment outside. It may rain water though.

Oh, I thought you were going to Clemson, but I guess that was for under-grad.

Yep. I graduated from Clemson in 2006 and entered Penn State in 2007.

Someone help me understand...

Why were there 10 year olds at a University?

Last time I checked Joe Paterno was coaching 18-24 year olds...not 3rd graders

...and why was the guy(Mcquarry or something) who saw these acts and went to Joe about them not fired? Seems Joe was the fall guy because he is famous.

You have angered your God beyond recovery.

So I guess the moral of the story is once you're fucked you may as well keep going, god isn't going to forgive you anyway. =p

Last time I checked Joe Paterno was coaching 18-24 year olds...not 3rd graders
I may be mistaken, but I think they were there as part of some charity thing. I'm still a little unclear as to what exactly happened, the news I've received about it has talked more about what Paterno may or may not have known.
...and why was the guy(Mcquarry or something) who saw these acts and went to Joe about them not fired? Seems Joe was the fall guy because he is famous.

I don't understand why he didn't go to the police in the first place.

Shame to see Paterno go this way.

The coach was hosting some sort of camp for kids.

It's called The Second Mile. It's an organization for underprivileged kids founded in 1977. It's in the first link I provided.

Paterno's firing triggered a riot last night. I'm glad that I didn't leave school too late because I drove to school that day and had to drive home through the areas where the rioting eventually took place.
