Lol, he didn't like the programming.

You know, common sense would have told you to just write a real nasty, nasty letter.

Was it really necessary to kill him? The story gave no indication that he was doing anything at the time he was shot and killed other than negotiating. Were they afraid that he was going to blow the building up before they shot him?

Another article posted that at the time they shot him it was believed he was about to detonate the charges.

He must've been getting ready to detonate the charges otherwise there's no reason to shoot him. This guy is an inspiration. I'm gonna go assault the Cartoon Network building the next time they show Unnatural History. Or one of those other shows that takes the "Cartoon" out of Cartoon Network. I mean, that programming's ridiculous enough, right?

Well, that stands to reason. I mean, I don't see normal and sane people holding hostages over television programming. :uhm:

Though I agree with Kyle in regards to whether or not it was necessary to kill him, you can't be too sure in situations like that. A non-lethal shot, while preferable, could have left the guy open to detonating whatever bomb he may have had.

More importantly, it's good to know that the hostages themselves came out okay.

^This, I don't know whether it was completley necessary to kill him but if it saved the lives of the hostages, good-bye have a nice day.

From what I heard, the hostages attempted to escape. He aimed his weapon at them and that's when the SWAT team moved in. He then aimed at them, and that's when they took the shot.

A lethal shot was probably the right thing to do. He had a detonator in his hand, and those don't require someone to aim them.
