I was looking for Terry Tate video's online and when I visited the Reebok website I noticed a message in red about a recall on the main page.

Apparently some charm bracelets given out to children as a gift with their pair of childrens shoes contain massive amounts of lead, enough to kill a 4 year old in Minneapolis, which is the reason for the recall, after the young girl swallowed a piece of the bracelet.

It's a shame that a life is taken of a young girl just because a massive corporation wanted to save some money, while still looking good with a "free gift!" Details Details

I want to know why they would put lead in there in the first place. If they want to distribute a product they shouldnt skimp on how its being made, just for extra money.

They put lead there because they don't care about who or what goes into their products, only that they look good and make money. I'm sure Reebok just said to some factory over in China owned by them. "MAKE US CHEAP CHARM BRACELETS".

Lead has the same weight as gold. Maybe that's the reason.

Perhaps that is what their brains are made out of, especially if something like this happens.

I do agree. But bad advertising is advertising anyway. We're talking about Reebok, don't we?

If you're thick enough to leave your child with something they can swallow and choke on like that then you've got it coming. The company should recall them obviously but her parents shouldn't have left her with the product in the first place.

Question remains, does Reebok need any more advertising? There are laws in place (most countries world-wide) that means a company can't monopolise advertising, but yes, advertising is advertising. *Looks at shoes* Mine aren't Reebok though and I doubt they will be unless they start making nice ones :nodding:
