The exchange of consumer products in Christmas wrapping, many of which will be unneeded and/or unappreciated, contributes to the sending of consumer waste to landfills, unless consumers choose to regift them.

Artificial Christmas trees are manufactured by processes which may have harmful effects on the environment.

Christmas decorations for homes and for Christmas trees are consumer products which are sometimes discarded to landfills. Electric Christmas lights consume electricity, which, by most means of production, harms the environment. Candles and oil lamps can be fire hazards.

Increased travel to visit friends and relatives generally involves the consumption of fossil fuels.

After all, Christmas is defined not only the birth of Jesus Christ, but the corporation's favorite holiday.

(What? Im cynical allright.)

Just a small question, is it me, or does everyone get the feeling that people talk about Christmas waaaay too early? I mean, its only the 6th of December still....and every year it starts earlier...

P.S. I dislike spam...

Wow, Some of what you say is correct, We for example have minimal decorations, all of which we have had for years, Our family and friends live near so they walk to us or us to them. We dont have candles or oil lamps. And we usally give each other money or vouchers therefore no wrapping paper.
