Celebrity Gossip | Entertainment News | Celebrity News | TMZ.com BBC NEWS | Americas | Michael Jackson taken to hospital

TMZ say he's died of a heart attack and the BBC aren't sure yet. The LA Times are saying he is at hospital and is in a coma.

Could the biggest pop star in history be dead? I hope not... I was looking forward to the comeback tour buzz. My condolences if he is.

:(

Happened today. He died at 50, from a cardiac arrest. RIP you musical mastermind

LOS ANGELES (AFP) — Pop icon Michael Jackson died Thursday after suffering a cardiac arrest, the entertainment website TMZ.com reported. The website reported that Jackson, 50, suffered a heart attack just after 12:00 pm (1900 GMT) local time and paramedics were unable to revive him. Jackson's manager Tohme E. Tohme was not immediately available for comment when contacted by AFP. Officials at UCLA Medical Center where Jackson was treated also could not be reached for comment. Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Devin Gales would not confirm Jackson's identity but said paramedics went to an address corresponding to the star's home at 12:21 pm (1921 GMT) and the person was taken to UCLA Medical Center.

I guess something is up then which may be either serious or fatal. Would be a shame if has passed away dispite being a of a weird person.

This might be a bigger deal than Elvis... certainly more people bought his records.

BBC News 24 are saying he's in hospital, so perhaps the TMZ report is jumping the gun.

EDIT: Though, the LA Times are now reporting that he is dead. Very confusing.

Weird? Yes. Crazy? Yes. Human? Possibly. Will he be missed? Yes

One more thing to add to the list of things we can shove in our kids faces though. Not shove in kids faces in the Michael Jackson way though... that would just be weird....

1. Pluto was a planet 2. Cartoons didn't suck nuts 3. First Black president of the U.S. 4. Michael Jackson was alive 5. Stephen Hawking was still alive (we all know he doesn't have much time left)

BBC call the TMZ website a 'reliable news source'.

My local news station is reporting the same, though they credit TMZ.

Apparently He's not dead, but in hospital in a Coma, it's too early to tell as everyones saying different things or quoting different sources.

well still, let's be honest, the only reason he's so famous is because he was a top artist during the 80's who had a bit too much fun with little boys. Thats why people remember him, mostly for that last part.
