Has anyone put together a comprehensive tutorial on how to mod BC? I'm talking about how to make the mods, how to install them, what programs are needed for ALL aspects of the procedure...etc.

I have looked at previous posts and have found bits and pieces but nothing that explains things in plain detail what to do step-by-step. I'm new to the modding thing and I would love to add some of the great mods I see around and id like to try my hand at making some of my own.

Thanks in advance.

It would seem that there are more than a few people interested in a "Modding Tutorial".:agreed:

Since there are a lot of views to this subject but no replies I would guess that a lot of people are interested but no one has a comprehensive tutorial.

Could someone please come up with one? I know it would involve a lot of work and time, but I'm patient. I'm willing to wait for someone to put together something. :D

I have tried unsuccessfully to add a new ship three times to my version after reading this board. I would also appreciate a step by step guide and links of where to get mods that will definetly work with it.

The problem, is that some people know about one aspect of modding and other people know about another, thus the types of mod they produce reflect their skillsset. For example I know a fair amount about hardpoints, but am pretty useless when it comes to creating and importing models.

Trying to get all these people together and fill in the blanks between them is not just difficult but probably impossible.

Most of the people (eg P81 aka Rick Knox) have left the BC modding community so were all pretty much stuck.

Dunno why he left.

If you want instructions on editing/creating hardpoints theres a tutorial on BCFiles, for the other stuff read through the Niff2niff topic in this forum.
