Hey yall, I've finished reading My Antonia, and part of my project is to make a timeline of events. I was hoping if someone could help me with choosing the most important events because I really suck at this. :uhoh: Last year I had problems with some book called "something to Manzanar"; eh, I can't remember. Could somebody help me asap? Thanks in advance!
Anybody who can truely and insightfully help me will get 125 points from me too. I'm kind of desparate! Edit: 150 points.
Good God, I hated that book. Its so pointless. I mean really.
But really, all you have to do is make a timeline? That seems easy, they ususally go over the most important stuff on sites like www.sparknotes.com, but I don't really understand what you're trying to do... :lookaround:

LOl you cant donate 150 points
I tried Spark Notes already, but they didn't give me a list of important events. I was hoping someone could help me here. And by the way, yes I can donate 150 points to whoever can help me (no websites unless it fully helps me). You can't see all of my points because it's in the bank right now.
I don't need any points. I get 800+ in interest every day. But I still don't know what you mean by important events. Do you mean important events in history, or the book, or what?
Important events IN the book. ie: 1. Jim+ Jake's train ride to Nebraska. 2. Jim formally meets Antonia and the rest of the Shimerdas. 3. etc...
Just the important stuff please. And also, you still desirve the points.
I never read that book, bu here are some tips to help you with events: 1. Write down all the things that made you stop and think. That's a good hint that it might be important. 3. Quickly skim through the book again, and write down anything that cathes your eye. 2. Think "if that event never happened, would this have happened?" (for example, if he never went to the store, would he have been kidnapped?). If the answer is no, it's an important event. 3. Do a google search, and look for a book review or timeline. Usually these give you the highlights. 4. Look at the name of the chapter. It usually gives a clue. 5. Mark the potentialy important things with a sticky note. 6. Most important: pay attention, no matter how hard it is. It will pay off in the long run.
Gives the highlights/summary of the book. Hope it helps. http://www.gradesaver.com/ClassicNotes/Titles/myantonia/shortsumm.html Your friendly GF google master, V0rtex
