A while back in another thread, I said I was doing an ASB or student council speech. Well, I have it done and I am going to post it here to see what you think. Please bear in mind that I have to do it on Friday the 12th in front of the entire school, before lunch, that is why I have made references to lunch in case anybody is wondering. I will keep this thread updated so everyone know the outcome of the election. Here is what I am running for: ASB Secretary: It shall be the duty of the secretary to record and circulate all procedings of the formal ASB meetings. He/she shall also read the minutes at each meeting, being prepared to related the exact wording of any motion made. These meetings should be kept as a permanet record to aid future council meetings and fulfill state law. It shall also be his/her duty to maintian ASB files. My speech isnt very long, and any feedback will be highly appreciated! Here it is: My fellow friends, It is with great pleasure that I stand before you today, knowing that this afternoon the outcome of this election will be decided by you who choose to vote. I assume that some of you expect me to write a fiery speech, with large words and such. This I shall not do. I am simply here to tell you to vote for me, so the job can be done, and done right. Many of you already know that I am running for this position. And as secretary my job is to record all meetings for future ASB and in excess I must be prepared to relate exactly what was said at the meeting. I can do this job well, as it isn’t hard to manage and keep things organized, as is necessary for my job. I want to do this job right, to keep everything good for you. So as I leave, I want you all to think this when you are eating your lunch and preparing to go to the voting area. Vote for who you think is right, vote for Nolan. All the best of luck!

No offense dude, but you need to be as professional as possible. If you tell people to vote for you and that's it, they won't. They'll vote for the guy who explained why he should be voted for and so on.

But anyway, Best of luck to you. Last time I ran for student government in the 5th grade, the girl who gave dum-dum lollipops to everyone got the presidency.. damn briber.. "Yeah my dad got this last night at the store for everyone"

So what should I say? I have experience keeping records, and such, or my handwriting is good?

No one cares how your handwriting looks, so don't say that.

I wrote something up real quick

It is with tremendous honor that I stand here today, knowing that this afternoon the outcome of this election will be decided by my fellow students. I wish to serve as the secretary that everyone will enjoy. As the secretary of the student council, I shall accurately transcribe the proceedings of all ASB meetings. As your secretary, I will present the agenda of all the meetings to the best of my ability. Voting for me will allow me to maintain the organization required of the council. It will be a great honor to serve the council, to serve the student body. When you are voting, please remember; You'll be rollin with Nolan

You can change whatever you want. You have full royalties on this, no worry about plagerism.. :)
