Oh, I'm pretty nervous right now, less than a month ago, I was recruited into a band that has been around the area for about nine years, the reason it hasn't gone anywhere is because, no one seemed to want to get their stuff together, Well the drummer quit, Decided to get married, and settle down, the whipped bastard he was. and the rhythm guitarist, is essentially in limbo, being so concerned over losing the drummer.

I have known this band for about two years, as my sister has been going out with the Singer\lead guitarist... So I knew about the new drummer coming in, and I knew he was awesome, He Plays a fourteen piece set, and can drum the crap out of them, so I was exited for them, But they still needed a bassist.

The rhythm Guitarist had been playing bass for them, but that left the band a bit empty sounding, So i helped the Lead Singer, in searching for a new bassist, of course I was a bit discouraged, considering, I play bass, but I passed it off as 'I'm sixteen, and he's twenty five, no way I will be able to be in this band.'

Well, one day, The singer picked me up and took me out to their practice place, The Drummer was there, and the Rhythm guitarist wasn't still being discouraged over the former drummers leaving.

We played, I thought It was just for fun, but I learned four songs from their set list in one night, and we played, when I left I was abruptly informed I was in the band... I was happy, still worried over my age affecting things, but happy...

Well, The set list is nearly complete, and tomorrow I play my very first show ever. It should be awesome, I still haven't had the chance to get to play with the rhythm guitarist, and no-one really knows what is up with him, but we are playing anyway.

I really can't wait, it is in Nashville, TN at 'the Gibson showcase' About a two hour drive from where I live, and it isn't that bad of a place, quite professional actually, which is why I am a bit upset that the former drummer came by the bands building, and took the bass set up, a four by twelve, with an awesome head, that held an awesome, powerful, sound, only to be replaced with my cruddy 50-watt hooked to the PA. :( But that isn't much to be discouraged about (anyone looking to sell a bass set up? :p)

I plan on getting some sound clips and videos, and will be glad to post them here...

Wish me luck, I need it, did I mention I have horrible stage fright? :p

Awesome, good luck with that Severed! I wish I could get in a band with my bass, I don't know anyone else that plays electric.

Hey, you're already doing a lot better than me....I can't even play an instrument! Try not to think about it all the time, take your mind off it a bit. You'll do fine.

Heh i can imagen that you worry about the age different, but since they letted you in they must find you goodenough. Just go for it (unless it start hurting your school results or personal life in a bad way). Perhaps they will eventually find a bassist that fits more into the group agewise but this shouldn't be a restriction. Just see were it goes and if you still don't feel comfortable after some time you can always tell what you think. Forget about your worries and just see were this takes you.
