I'm sorry to hear that man. I'm sure you made the right choice, because now at least you have a year left with her. She looks like a beautiful dog. When I was about 11, my golden retriever died of a heartattack. I had had him all my life up until then, and loved him a lot. It was like a part of me died with him. It was weird though...because last time I was up in my hometown, I drove by our old house where he died, and the imprint where he was laying when he had the heartattack is still in the grass. A couple of years later we got a new dog, who I still have now. He's a rotweiller/golden retriever mix, and really crazy. He's 6 and still acts like a puppy. I'm not sure what I'm going to do when he dies...hopefully that's a quite a few years from now.

Is it just me, or is cancer a big killer among pets as well as humans? I'm just glad my favorite pet, an affectionette Tuxedo Cat, died instantly, with no pain. I'm to sure about Alex, our black lab, her Death was a Mystery.

Aye, it is…it has killed all for centuries. It’s that we are now able to identify this silent killer in the past 120 years or so, whereas, before it was thought to be diseases like syphilis or tuberculosis.

*****UPDATE*****

Sorry to say, but I wanted to tell you all that she was supposed to get her surgery done today, but she passed away overnight while she was sleeping. I woke up only to find her next to my bed :(

Thanks for the support anyways. Maybe she knew what was best.

Sorry to hear about that man. It's tough losing a pet, we had an Alaskin Spitz many years ago who was run over right in front of me.

Good luck with that man, I know how hard it is to lose a dog.. In fact, I think it's already 3 dogs now.. :( We (my mum) still has 2.. I'm sure the dog will be thankful for all the lovin' years with you.
