I heard on the radio yesterday morning about a report from the American Social Security Administration concerning the most popular names. Apparently, for female names, Emma is ranked number 2. This surprises me. My name is Emma and in 26 years I have never met another Emma. As far as I know, I was the only one in any of the schools I attended, and all the places I've worked. I've heard of them, of course, there's some actresses and authors named Emma, but those don't really count, since I don't know them. So, this brings up a few questions I wanted to ask people. 1) Has anyone met and/or known someone named Emma? I don't count, and neither do celebrites, unless of course you happen to know them. 2) Have you ever met and/or known someone who has the same name you have? If so, does it feel weird to call someone by your own name? 3) Outside of America, what are the more common names for both females and males? em

my friend's sister's name is Emma. i dont think ive met nayone else named Emma.
ive never met anyone with my name. (Matlock) but i do go by Matt, which can get very confusing when other people are named Matt..i hated it when some kid named Matt came to out school and they would call "Matt!' and i would turn around to see them talkin to him... i decided he would be Matt2 so that we wouldnt get confused. worked great.
nope, no emma's I know
My brothers best friend is named Nathaniel, but I just call him Matain.
i know one emma. but not that well, she's just in one of my classes. and i know someone else with the same name as me. she's one of my good friends. it's a little strange when people call our name...
Yeah i know a few people named emma, maybe 3-4 people i know with that name, in my school there is only 1 other person i know of with the same name as me, and yes it's wierd, espesially when we're in the same room, someone yells and both of us answer lol
Well, I don't have to worry, my name is Thom, pronounced TOm and people always mispronouce my name, once I was even called Thorn. I have heard worse though.
I know no Emmas, not that I remeber..
I'm spending a year dead for tax reasons.

I know not a single Emma. Perhaps the American Social Security Administration, like quite a few bodies arround this world, just suck at what they do :p i dunno.

About the same for me but in my case it's a bit more embarassing, my name is Gabriel and it can also be a girl's name (just need to add ''le'') and it turned out that either i was called a girl or everytime someone called for a girl named gabrielle i was was always turning around and then to find that i was not the one being called also there was a shitload of girls named gabrielle and they were all in the same fuckin class as i was so i was then called gabriel-male or mr. gabriel or called by my last name(which doesnt look good at all). by my friends i was called Gab but then all the girls began to call all the girls named gabrielle, gab which pissed me off even more... and it goes on and on
I never met a emma once in my life, maybe it's not very popular in Quebec. I think here in Quebec the most popular name was Pierre/Jean but that's only for those in the 40's-50's
No emma or enemas
