So, I's in college now. So far everything is pretty good, except I'm often quite bored. I've got gaming, but that get's boring after awhile, and I'm not really a "people" person exactly. I don't like parties or large gatherings, I prefer to stick to a rather small group of friends, but I don't get to see them as often anymore. So does anyone know of any good hobbies you can do in a college dorm room, something for more of a loner(though I'm not really a loner, I just like small groups rather than large ones) like me?

Who'd suggest that? :naughty: Just kidding. Maybe find someplace to walk with your group? That's a nice way to pass time and have fun at the same. Sounded wrong, didn't it?

That's just what I can think of you doing in your dorm.
Try airsofting or paintballing. Keeps me and my buddies busy for hours.

This guy beat me to it, but yeah, learning to play an instrument is a great idea to take up your free time (if you're not studying), especially if you're in college or university and can easily be done in your dorm. When you're good enough, maybe get a band formed or something along those lines--that'll definitely take up your free time.
That's what I do in my free time at college anyway (drums, keyboard, programming and to a lesser extent, guitar and bass), but then again, my main aim at college is music, so something like that may not be of much interest to you. ><"

Do you have any clubs at college that fit in with your interests?
Car Club, Formula SAE, and the college Newspaper saved me from boredom last year. Maybe I did a bit too much, but I like to keep busy, and since I'm not a party/fraternity person, clubs were where I met people that weren't in my classes.

music: i may be easier for you to play, for me i would need to be incredibly bored for me to play my trumpet, and hell would have to freeze over for me to practice my violin. art: i love to draw, though time and energy to find it hampers me. drawing is great fun, let your imagination go crazy. TV: believe it or not, you can waste good chunks of time in front of the tube. maybe not the best thing to waste time on but it does make time fly. something else that i may mention later.

Yes writing is extremely fun, though I have to admit, I dont do near as much as a did a year ago. I have found that I am supper busy editing for the the newspaper and whatnot, now that I am out of the navy reserve, which i must say i love not having to do weekends anymore.

Most dorms don't allow airsoft or paintball guns.
I spend most of my time walking around campus, or messing around in photoshop. That and watching movies. Movies area good way to kill 2 hours, and expand your mind, there's some useful stuff in movies. For example, I just watched Hard Candy last night. I will never become a pedophile now.
