FileTrekker/me slaps Bladrick in the avatar Geocities is just plain evil :p

BAHAHAHAHA! Quiet you. I saw your post in the "Introduce Yourself" section in my thread; was going to reply but didnt want you going all admin on my ass for bringing up dead threads. I should take a sneaky picture of you singing something gay and post it on these forums :uhm: Geocities is the easiest WYSISWG editor and although, more evil than Satan on evil pills, its still really easy to use if your...well, a nub at web-designing.

You would never be that evil!

The problem with geocities is that it tends to put ads over your site and its really obvious what it is so it looses 10 to 15 respect points just for starters.

It's better IMHO to just pay a visit to w3schools and learn some basic HTML, or give something like Dreamweaver a try, and get some proper webspace.

I explained this to you in IT today, however for the benefit of others; the problem with linking people to places like W3schools and telling them to to learn PHP, HTML, ASP, .net etcc is because they cant be arsed. They want a website to appear right in front of them with minimal effort. These people will not go to ALL that effort for something that they just want to impress their mates of fellow clan members with. EVERYONE wants maximum results with the least effort (10 points it anyone can remind me where I got that last line from; it sounds like a shaving advert or something); Geocities, althought pretty shitty, tacky, cheap and has adverts gives them what they want.

Maximum results, Minimum effort I think is a Mach 3 turbo advert.

Uh yeah, and as I explained to YOU today, I don't feel intrested in offering advice for anyone too lazy to learn HTML or to download something like Dreamwever and get some half-decent free webspace. :p

For serious w3schools is great. If you are really wanting to get into site building listen to FileTrekker. I got a start and built my first site in 5 days. No lie!!! check it out. Not sure if anyone has posted it, but angelfire is still around.

but on the otherside you can pay $12 a month and get 15gb of space w/ plenty of bandwidth.
