I am trying to mod BC so that it allows one torpedo tube to fire only a certain torpedo(say Torpedo A) and another torpedo tube fire only another torpedo type(Say Torpedo B) I realize noone has been able to accomplish this but I plan on making an entirely new starship system that is basically that same as the current torpedo system but differs by being able to do what I previously stated. I have one problem tho, I don't know how to program in a new system.....Can anyone help me with this?

Why not instead of make one tub fire one kind.. and the other fire anoter kind.. why not just make two torp systems all together a fore and an aft..?

Yes, a second torpedo system, with a new name and tubes linked to that system may do it.

i dunno how well that would work because would it fire both tubes at the same time? and how could u change torpedoes (if u wanted to or not) i dun believe felix's menu can handle such a thing. plus u could possibly crash the game or get a script error in testmode

Just make a pulse weapon script that will use torpedoes. That's how Chronocidal_Guy configured the CG Sovereign.

well, if your feeling up to it, you can delay the fireing times. but this can cause massive confusion in the script files and can crash the game on many ocasssions. if your reload for torpedo a is matched on the torpedo b fireing scale. the game will crash. so you need to keep the torpedoes on a time balance, or if you have a trainer program, use unlimited torpedos and keep hittin the torpedo fire botton. the easiest and simplest way is to do what CG did on the CG Sovereign and turn the torpedoes into a disruptor script.

u cant have 2 torpedo systems... u have to do as Shadowknight1 said... but when u do the pulse weapon, u have to do its recharge time slower as to be like a torpedo tube. and if u want u can make another pulse phaser 'tube' to fire ANOTHER type of torpedo, u just have to change the script! good luck :)

I have tried to do it already with the MPE, but that didn't work. I think it would be possible to program it in and have it put torpedo type selector and torp spread modes on the menu under the first topedo system. But I don't know anything about programing so if anyone knows please tell me. Also as for both torp systems firing at once, I would hope that i could make it so only one tube fires at any one time.

As for doing the pulse thing, I COULD do it but it is so unrealistic...There should be torpedo limitations.

Any help would be nice and if anyone else wishes to try to do what i am trying go right ahead....and if it works make it a downloadable mod!!! :cheers:

the pulse thing can be limited, just set the recharge to 0 and set a power setting and a discharge power like cgs. like 25 power and the draw will be 1 so you have 25 torpedos on that tube. if you have 4 tubes thats 100 torpedos. take a look at cgs scripts and how he made the torpedos. very innovateive.
