I just successfully hardpointed my first ship yesterday and once I was done many questions arose in my mind...
First, can you mkae it so that a certain torpedo tube can only fire a certain type of torpedo?....ex: Can you mkae it so torpedo tube 1 can only fire quantums while torpedo tube 2 can only fire photons?....etc
Second, can you make it so a ship can have two shield generators?....ex: Can you make it so a ship has say multi-vectoral shields and regular shields?....etc.
Last, this is really complicated, I am trying to make my Soveriegn able to fire a 3-torp burst, 4-torp burst, and 3 3-torp bursts, and I want to be able to choose which one I want (during a battle) by way of the firing chain thing( that let you select single, dual, or quad, in the original game). Is this possible or am I just dreaming?....If it is possible could someone explain how to do it???

For the 2 shield generators check out one of the promethues hardpoints on BCFiles, one of them has two generators and it should show you how to set it up. i don't know if you can run two kinds of shields or not? and the torps? i don't think you can do that under the same torp property, becuase all launchers load from what's set under the Torp weapons system property, but you could set up seperate launchers as disrupters, but have them fire torpedos, like the CG Sov. It's acually not that hard to set up after you figure it out, pretty cool too! not sure on the spreads? i don't mess with that very often.
Yes you can have two shield generators, I did a HP for the Prommie with three on it, they basically act as redundant generators, the shield power isn't cumulative.
You can't have different torp types loaded at once on a tube property as the are controlled from the root torpedo subsystem.
The only way to do it is as has been suggested by RemanWarbird.
I avoid the spread option in BC, but what you suggest may be possible with some trial and error.
The shield type applied in ATP applies to all shields for that ship, you can't have different shield types allocated seperatly.
