I found an interesting pill bug in my backyard. Its bluish-purple. any of you are scientists? my pics are really blurry cause my canonSD630's back light broke recently. so i had to aim blindly. it died shortly after i found it, it just stopped moving. here is the best pic. its still pretty blurry and hard to tell the color. I'll try to get a better one soon

Yea, most rolly-pollies I've seen are usually colored with darker colors like in your pictures. It might have a tint, but probably nothing awkward. Now if it was yellow or red...

Every one I've ever seen had a sort of gray or blue shade. That's nothing weird.

Seems normal to me. I'm in Northern California. Where are you, and what do your pillbugs look like?

Stay away, i believe those are the ultra venomous variants.

Rolly polly's are pretty neat though, miniature armadillo's. :)

It appears to be a Porcellio scaber, also known as the Common Rough Woodlouse. Nothing new about it.
