I'm a newbie. Yes you heard right, a newbie. I have just dl Python and Model Property Editor. I have no Idea what I'm doing. I want to learn how to make ships. I've seen and flown some cool looking designs on BCFiles. I have looked at the tutorials and all they tell me is what the menus do.
In the words of Jar Jar Binks, "Any help here would be hot he he."
Also I have some rad ideas for making ships. Just have to get it out of my head and into BC!! I also have nothing to do this summer so my time table is wide open.
I don't mean to banter but, I NEED HEPL :smack: :smack: At least post a website that will give me a decent Tut. plz anything. I'm desparete. Yes I notice the time, i know I'm up very early, but Mountain Dew has high caffine.
Theres a basic guide to using MPE on BCFiles.com . Use that.
Thnx BoomAM. I've glanced at that before. Right now I'm undertaking the huge task of learning Python. Looks like a whole lot to take in. I think I've dl one of your mods before on BCfiles. I can't remember which one though. Hey once I get good at making mods, maybe we can do a mod together eh? If not it's no biggie.
I have no idea what python is to be honest. The mod you have probably downloaded is my Realistic Soverign Mod, Either v1.0 , 2.0 or 2.5 Ive just submitted my Realistic Defiant Mod. And will be submitting my Realistic Akira mod this weekend.
You seem willing to learn the basics of modding, something which i want to do, but cant. MPE doesnt work on my computer, it keeps crashing, so i have to edit everything manually through notepad, which is very hard. So for the moment, i`m limited to tweaking ships, adding systems like armour, and making the ship as cannon as possible.
What sort of modding are you going into? Hardpoints? Textures? Models?
When youve learned how to mod, and have an idea for a mod that you want me to help you with, then just PM or email me about it, i`ll be more than happy to help.
Cool thanx. Just so you know, Python is a script editor. It works much in the way of C and C++. From what I'm seeing, you need to learn a specail programing language to use it effictively. Come to think of it, it's kinda like the backbone version of Visual Basic. VB is just a tool that lets you make programs and different varius stuff. I don't know if they use the same language or anything though. Anyways the .pyc and .py files are used for scripting like for hardpoints and stuff like that. About half of Bridge commander uses Python scripting.

So getting to the topic at hand... Yeah that would be cool. It'll probaly take me a couple of days to get MPE down though. If your interested, you can get Python 2.2 at thier website:
It has alot of stuff to dl but I think all you really need is the win32 version.
Let me know when you`ve come up with something.
