Totally missed this thread.

Anyway yeah, just read about this, kind of embarrassing considering how offended they were by the movie to begin with. Surprised there isnt far more outrage.

I think it was intentional. I think a troll got in there and switched the proper theme out for that one.

Not as funny as when they played the Nazi anthem for German gold medalists in London earlier this year.

London 2012 - 'Nazi anthem' played at canoe championship - Yahoo! Eurosport

For those who don't know, they still use the same song but the first and second verse are banned.

I would hardly put this down to an accident, but rather an elaborate joke or an intentional hack of some kind. Such an event can't be put down to mere 'coincidence'.

The Borat one? Was a mistake, they just Google'd the national anthem and Borat's version was clearly the first one they found. Not knowing better, they used it.

You'd think they'd check that shit before playing it, huh?

Yep, someone definitely screwed up in that department. Though I wonder, not knowing Kazakh language, perhaps whoever was in charge of the anthems just assumed that was the right one because they didn't know the words or something? Still, where's the fact-checking people?

These kinds of mishaps happen fairly often, I remember a few years back there was an issue when the Royal Canadian Legion used the melody of the Horst Wessel Lied in a fundraising commercial. Odd that an organization for veterans, some of whom had fought in WWII against the Nazis, would use the anthem of the Nazi party in one of their commercials.
