46 and 2, are just ahead of me
23rd September 2004
Saw that poem yesterday, nice.
My Dad's a vet so we gotta show respect for them
I assume you all know this is also armistice day. the day WWI ended on the 11th hour of the 11th of the 11th month of 1918(i think) My mom's dad was a medic in the 10th mountain division and my dad's dad was in the navy during WWII. My mom's dad has his medals still and goes on trips to meet up with the people he was with.
I can't believe it, at school today, I was in Chemistry, the bell for minutes silence rung. I was about to take it, but the teacher jsut talked through it. Like wtf. I wanted to pay my respects etc. My Grandad was in Artillery Division I think. Got Stationed all over the place.
wow Grim Grom you teacher must be a retard or something lol
Rememberance Day ceremony at school was rather lame. It was the same slideshow and same song [a really bad one at that] as last year, except this year we didnt have a Canadian soldier talk to us straight off the plane from Afghanistan [which was pretty cool]. There was no mention made to the millions of Allied soldiers who died, but only made reference to Canada's soldiers, kind of alienating the rest of the world. I also discovered that some of the students' speeches reflected an anti-Canadian military slant and also a anti-Iraq slant, the first of which I have concluded is the root-cause embedded into some Canadians of not wanting a military at all. It was still a solemn ceremony with its peaceful intentions and all.
we didn't even have one it sucks
