I bet you she was a big nurse and the dude was a skinny 59 year old loser. It was probably her sitting on his chest that killed him. Guys are really stronger than most girls think. I actually didn't know how strong guys are until I played wrestled with one of them. He was my size but twice as strong as me. I think we weighed the same too...plus he was 14...two years younger than me.

Self defense FTW!

I don't think it is "good" that he was killed but better him then her. She couldn't have known what he might have done to her so she was completly justified,

MemorexNot necesarilly true. He could've carried it to "scare" others. I don't think killing him was justified.

Agreed, though it depends on what happend. If he did attacked her with the hammer and she overpowered him and then strangled him it probably would have been justified. Though even then it would be better to just overpower him and perhaps make him pass out so he can be handed over to the police knowing he got pwned.

Criminals are bad people but that doesn't justify exessive force (murder). We are better then them. Pwning them or attacking them to make them realize they made a very big mistake is all fine with me though.

It's me feeling that a Monday is a nice day to return to the level of activity I used to have in the general forums.

As far as pwning goes, overpowering a criminal (especially when that person should have a clear advantage) and makng him or her regret what they by letting them feel a little pain or paninc "this bitch is going to kill me! I picked the wrong house!" is all good. If handed over to the police afterwards and sent to jail only makes them double pwned. The criminal got punished by the victem and authorities, that's victory for the victem and the police. :)

Some crazy nurse, I hope she isn't that tough with her patients. :p

beef flaps There might be more to the stroy, as maybe she did it on purpose and she knew him, whatever but until that is brought up I say good for her for protecting her own life. He knew the risks when he walked into a home that was not his, with, a, hammer.
Agreed, but taking his life definitely was overkill, and she should at least be prosecuted for going too far in self-defence to make sure that the case will be investigated enough.
There is nothing simple about a break in, please.

Actually breaking into an average house isn't that complicated if you don't even check if anyone is home. ;)

Who the hell are you to make that claim? Were you there? Was your life in danger that second? Was it you who reacted? It's freaking amazing reading these replies. This ain't a scripted movie or a 911 conspiracy, that happendd to be real life guys.

Were YOU there? Do YOU know her life was in danger? Maybe the thief was scared like a little kid.. maybe he was an escaped murderer.. If you don't know all this, you can't just say "it's justified".
I don't expect that woman to post here and explain the situation by her own words, and even if she did I wouldn't bet she told the full truth and only the truth, so speculating is all we can do, unless you intended this thread to be ten pages of everyone trying to find alternate ways to say "good job" or "lolz!111"? :uhm:

Strangling someone isn't usually such a quick thing that you wouldn't have time to move and sit on the victim (which would make him pretty static considering her huge mass) when he gets unconscious either, that's why I think she might have ended it the way she did on purpose. Then he might just have got some kind of attack, but the article didn't say anything about one.
