If you were to remove transfats from everyday eating... some 20% of coronary-problem-related deaths would be solved.

And the goverment would move one step closer to being a 1984 like distopia.

There is nothing wrong with the food. People were eating like we are now in 1960, and there was no problem with obesity. Why? People got out and moved around more.

The FDA is a good thing.

The FDA has no hand in this law. It is the health department of NYC. They are overstepping their bounds. Food is the responsbilty of the FDA, not a health agency.

Not entirely true, as food was a lot less processed back then. Raw foods happen to be much healthier than processed foods. Transfats happen to be particularly prevalent in processed foods.

I am not. Work was much more physical back then. People did not sit at office desks like they do today.

Both may parents were fed a good bit of fat, but they never gained a pound. Both my parents were outside playing with their friends, not sitting inside watching TV and playing video games.

It can't be that hard to get out and do something mildly strenous for an hour a day.

True, but it's right that we don't eat the same stuff they had in the 60's man.

When I see a 'tub-O-guts' using a riding lawnmower or dogging an all you can eat buffet. I just want to slap them & say, "If you ask what that's for, I'll do it again."

I think Volksmarch's should be mandatory.
