pInK_eLePhAnThere in canada you can get a permit to drive with an adult at 16 called a G1. then you pass a driving test to get a G2 after you've been driving for a bit. then after a year you get your G which is the full licence.

Yup, lots of my friends have their G1s or are soon getting their G2s. Personally, I haven't even bothered getting my G1, I don't have a car, nor the money to pay for one and the ridiculously high insurance rates here. You can get the G2 8-10 months after your G1 if you take driver's school, if you don't you'll have to wait 12 months and have a higher insurance rate.

Its actually quicker to get your M1/M2 for the motorcycle than it is to get a car license. One of my friends got his full motorcycle license in less than a month! Insurance for a motorcycle is higher, but you don't need to get as much gas as they are more efficient gas-wise.

Do you have to take tests and what not to get a full license? In UK, at 17 you can apply for a provisional which allows you to drive with someone over 21 who has held a full license for 3 years. To get a full license you must first pass a Theory test which involves things like hazard preception etc. Then when you pass this you may take a Test which involves performing general driving and manoeuvres etc. then if you pass you can get a full license and enjoy the high insurance rates & Petrol prices.

Yea, here in California you can get your drivers license at 16. At 15 you can get your permit, after you've taken classes, and taken the written test. Then at 16 you can get the license after you've taken 3 driving classes with an instructor. I've had mine for almost a year(a year in july).

In pennsylvania if you were born in 1988 or farther, you only had to wait until you were 16 to get the permit, then wait six months before you could take the test. Now if you were born as of January 1st, 2004, you can get your permit when you're 16, but you have to wait until 17 to take the driving test...

ZeRoNiTeYeah my better half is learning to drive and she is nearly 16.
I could've gotten my Driver's Permit when I was 14 1/2, I was actually one of the older kids in the class. Oh, god.. the teacher of the class was so scary. I'm going to be getting my driver's licence when I'm 16, but I'll still only beable to drive with one other person in the car, unless their related, and then about a year later, I'll have a full, fledged driver's licence.
