Was having a conversation with stalker about this just a moment ago, can you guys think of any old cliché that late 90's early 2000's websites had? I thought of Guestbooks and Hit-Counters Stalker said Under Construction and spinning glittery GIF logo's.

Share what you remember, or better yet show me what you remember, Or better yet if you still remember your old website namely one from angelfire link us!

Check out this gem.

Ah, midi music, classic, any time you went to another page(the few that had more then just one big main page) the midi would restart.

If I remember correctly, you could get non MIDI songs on Angelfire websites... but you had to pay for them, let alone licensing, I would assume.

Bimingham Truck Stop Transport Cafe Lorry Park This is one of my favourites, it contains these hallmarks; 1) Cheesy MIDI music in the background. 2) Proudly displaying an icon stating the site was created in Notepad, "The Right Way" - yeah. 3) It has a javascript that prevents right-clicking, which, apart from doing nothing to protect the content (that isn't even worth stealing) - it's a major annoyance. Especially in Windows 8.

I remember when I used to visit those pages about Illuminati, UFO's and whatnot, they all had a creepy background, dark colors and a menu with topics on the left... ALWAYS on the left! :lulz:

The random application of JavaScript was always my favourite - news tickers, 'rain' effects (where the page would be covered in falling images), and my personal favoure - the cursor stalker, where a floating analogue clock or trail of dust of something would follow your cursor around.

And let's not forget crappy unskippable Flash intros.

That definitely looks like a place where I'd like to ingest food.

Wanna see a totally fucked up JavaScript? Keep watching this. I recorded it earlier. You need to be a Sonic Retro member to get it to work though, hence the video.

An index page with a single superlage link that says something like "welcome", maybe combined with an image.

Also, marquee tags all over the place (those things that make text scroll across the screen).
