Yeah yeah, you can see my sig and stuff that i love 'em. dearly. i just had my first one as a christmas present (the same color as in sig, two "branches") and was just thinking does anyone else have orchids at home and you could share a few tips on how to treat em.

i heard the flower should be removed from its pot once a week and put it in water for 30mins to wet it thorought, and then place back at its pot. it shouldn't be in direct sunlight either, and likes temperatures from +10 to +18 celsius.

I know my grandmother received several orchids at my grandfather's wake and they lasted months. I'm not sure what she did with them, though I know they were not in direct sunlight. I was under the impression that she just watered them but I'm not quite sure.

They are beautiful flowers, though, and have such variety.

Yeah they last years, if treated correct. needs some kind of special orchid-fertilization but i bet it costs a lot.
