Paintballing is fun. I went a while ago with my dads company who had all only done it once. I can give you a few tips.....
1) Camo is the best, or anything dark and/or green and brown. 2) The layers don't need to be too thick, if the paintball doesn't hurt where is the fun? I wore a camo jacket and a tanktop underneath. And just some camo pants. 3) Avoid getting hit. (Obviously) 4) If there are any children going near age 13-16 and they are on your squad then hang with them, children are always the best! And the last to get out. 5) Play alot of war games first, and play other things that make you think on your feet and run for your life. 6) The refs will tell you the rules, listen. 7) If you go to a professional area for it they will have one team wear a band on their arms, try not to be in this team. 8) No blind fire, don't be a wimp!
My personal experience was great, I only got shot 3 times. Once by my dad (he was on my team and shot me before the match so I can know what it felt like), once in the forest below my left shoulder and once in my hand. Just to know you should wear some gloves, I didn't! And getting shot in the hand and foot don't count, so if they shoot you there you are still in. If you do get hit make sure you hold your gun up and scream "I'm out!" because other people will shot you on sight if they don't know.

Last time i went i got shot in the hand and it bloody hurts, So yes i will definatley be wearing gloves. Also thanks for the tips i apprechiate it.
I didn't make it!
Im going in the next few weeks with some friends. None of us have gone before, so well all suck :p
isnt it like $1 a paintball?
Not really, where I went they had packages you could purchase with certain amounts of paintballs. I think I bought about a hundred. And after about 5/7 maps (2 rounds each map) I needed some more. I was thinking of buying a paintball gun, they give you some at the parks, but they suck! The air tank was attached to the trigger. But I digress...... anyway, a gun paintball gun made of metal will cost maybe $100 dollars, but it'll last alot longer than the plastic ones.
BTW, no prob, always like to help. I have one more tip though. They gave us these things that held the extra paintballs in them so you can reload on the fly. They are in plastic containers and are held on to you by a velcrow belt, I would suggest you let it hang in front of your jewels, wouldn't want those getting hit now will we?
And paintballs really hurt, they sometimes leave round scars, I had one on my leg for a good month or two. But its all fun to do, its like war, but it doesn't kill you, and its all about fun!

I've found a place up in Maine that sells a 1000 pack of paintballs for 12$.
Just search the General Discussion forum for paintbal and you'll get a couple of hits of some of our own experience with the game.
My personal view; God I'd wish I could do it for a living :p
I may start doing it once or twice a month. I really fell in love with the game. And it gets me off my 360!
Walmart is a good place for buying cheap balls. (Not a sexual reference) and I only paintball in the woods because it is more intense, fun and free unlike those indoor paintball arenas which tend to be small and expensive.
My advice is to be aggressive and enjoy the fun of it... don't hide too much because you will be missing out and patience is the main key to paintballing (its hellva fun to wait patiently and see a guy walking past you *BAM* Headshot!)
You'll have to go to professional places like challenge park. They have outdoor maps small and large. Search it up, they have a sight. I played at some nice areas,
-one was an open field with scattered broken cars, trucks and buses. The vehicles made it hard to just open up on an opponent, making the match more tactical.
-one was a little town, old fashion, but though the town was nice outside the insides of the buildings were just rocks and water. And they only let 2 people in a tower at a time.
-another place was the same city above, only in ruins. I liked this one, though I spent most time in a tower.
-another was a large forest, the funnest one to me. But the other ref on the enemy side started the match before our side was ready (huge map) so all the adults were out, it was just me and two of my friends, and we were all 16 or 15 at the time. There was an airplane in the center, but I never got to it since the other team was so hyped they always got there first.
-the last map was Cowboys vs Indians, and it was at a small building where we were defending and there was a flag in the middle. Fun maddness!
(one more tip, wear a cap, then when you put your mask on wear the cap backwards and let the bib protect your neck, trust me!)
Yeah, Last time i went with work, Myself and on of me mates, Got deep into enemy lines to capture the flag. And one of the enemy (also someone from work) dident know we were behind him, **Bam right in the back**. Ha great fun. cant wait for next to go again.
Edit: That sounds great, To play paintballing in and amoungst old cars, buses and trucks. Even better would be to play it in an abondonned building.
