Well with "plastic" money (creditcards and debit cards) you can easily pay without having to bother about having enough (or too much) money on your body. Paying electronically does have less of a emotional feel to it though.

I still do a lot if not most of my spendings with paper (and coin) money though, I could bring all my tips and paper money I get one way or the other to the bank but thats not practical either.

Paper, as I do not have a credit card.

I still prefer paper money over a card anyway, there's just something cool about having money in your hand.

You don't need to have a creditcard to pay with plastic, I asume every person these days gets a card form his/her bank which you can pay with. We call it a PIN pass.

atm2.jpgmay02_16003.jpg Just enter your card, check the price you are paying (enter by staff) enter your pin and done.

Well, most of us in the U.S. still call them credit cards because we have debit or credit cards, not the kind of pass system that you euro's have.

In some places, mostly cities, they have them, but in the majority of suburban America - we use cards.

I use paper, if by paper you mean dollar bills, and plastic as in Credit Cards.

You are not telling me you don't (commonly) use these passes supplied to you by your bank so you can pay checks in stores etc. , draw money from your bankaccount in those public pay machines:

Beats a creditcard, it's pretty much "paper" money but in plastic form. To make things more complicated we have two options:

CHIPknip: Up to 200 euros, you ggo to a charge point, enter your card, enter your personal secret 4 digit code, enter the amount of money you want to store on it (up to 200 euros) and voila. This money gets written of your bank account and stored on the pass. Then you can simply get it through a machine in a store (or whatever, a vending machine, public phonecell etc.), confirm you want to pay and done.

PIN pass: Enter a store, get in line and say you want to pin. Staff enters amount of money, you get your card through the machine, enter your personal code, confirm the amount of money and done.
