The desktop? Just press the "Print Screen" button on your keyboard (mine reads "Prt Scrn") and then paste it somewhere.
Alt + Print Screen will just capture the active window.
 That has never worked for me, haha. Correct me if I'm wrong, but cant you also use certain programs to take a screenshot, also?

On some PCs, you have to install the program from Settings, Add/Remove Programs/Windows Components. I don't remember if that is the correct path or not on those versions of Windows or not, Windows Components might be somewhere different...
Hit the print screen button. Then go into an image editor such as paint and click the edit tab and look for the option to "Paste". Now save the file to somewhere on your computer. If you want to upload it to Gaming Forums, first click the "Go Advanced" tab next to the "Post Quick Reply" button down by the quick reply option at the bottom of every thread. Once you have written your message, click the "Manage Attachments" tab below the typing box. Once the box appears, click the "Browse" button. Find the place where you saved your file to and click "Ok". Now click the "Upload" button located on that manage attachments box. Please wait while your file(s) are being uploaded. Once your file(s) are uploaded, close that box. Then post your post and it should be attached. If you have any problems, feel free to send me a Private Message.
Thanks guys. Today is my lucky day.
