I'm not bothered particularly by 'traditional' ear piercings, no, unless they decide to dangle hula-hoops or five-ton boulders from their lobes. I'm not a fan, and will invariably prefer those without them so far as looks go, but I'm not a mortal enemy either. It's the ones in 'other' places that really get to me.
why do they really get to you? :/

'anna :']why do they really get to you? :/
The only word I can think of to describe how I feel about them, is 'revolting'. Some of them make me cringe, others just repulse me. Either way, I don't like them.
Um, I'm not sure where any of you got the idea that piercings are a sign of insecurity.
The reason why people wear them is because, well, they like them. They like how they look.
They wear it for the same reason that anyone wears any other type of jewelry -- a necklace, a bracelet, a ring.
Not to mention, the chances of you dying from an infection in your piercing is pretty slim. If you take care of it, it probably won't even get infected at all.
As it's been said many times, piercings are for some, and not others. I don't see why you have to stereotype us into being immature and lacking self-confidence. It's a personal preference for style, and nothing more.

Piercings (and tattoos) are not my thing. If people want them that is their choice but I myself see no need for extra things on my body. Take me for who I am or leave.
I don't care wether you are male or female either, people who say man with piercings "are gay" make me shake my head. It certainly doesn't have to do with sexual preferance. Pretty much all man I have met with piercings so far (ears, nose and whatever) are hetro. Same with woman and tattoos, doens't make you "more manly" and thus a "lesbian" or tomboy.
