The only legal way to obtain Max is to buy it. If you obtained in through other means, do not discuss them on the forum-starforce2

Hmm, sound like a problem with either the source file, or the filtering when you convert to NIF.

Make sure you turn all the filtering off, so that you don't screen out anything that MPE might need.

Er..Heh..How do you turn the filtering off? There's nothing that says anything about it on the export setup screen..

Success! Well..Almost..I got the model to load in the Model Property Editer..EXCEPT for the actual hull textures. I've got all the glows, the pannel lines, etc..but no hull textures. What am I forgetting? Heh..I'll probably figure it out before anyone answers this..>_>

You got it to load? I've been trying for about two weeks now, and it still hasn't loaded a single ship up. It's doing my head in. There is an older version of maximmerse, which is compatible with nif2nif, if I could get that, I might have more luck.

Why doesn't the damn STBCExporter.dlu work with 3.0? Surely 3.1 and 3.0 are not THAT different.

I'm using the STBCExporter.dlu with Max R3 (3.0) and it works just fine..

Don't install NetImmerse. JUST the STBCExporter..that's all that's needed, I'm pretty sure..That was the only way I could get the model to load.

If you use Max 3.0 (And I guess 3.1, too?), you don't need Nif2Nif. Nif2Nif just converts the .NIF from NIF4 (3D Max 4) to NIF3 (Max 3, BC)..but I'm still having the problem with the textures.

1) When I load a SFC II model, I getno hull textures, only glows..Windows, nacelles, Bussards, etc..No hull textures.

2) When I load an SFC I model, most of the time the textures are transparent. They have no solidity at all..

I got one ship (An SFC I model) to work great..Now I just need to learn how to rescale it and add illumination effects..Scripting (Except for HPs) is finished.

No luck, same problem as before, it just hangs when it tries to load up the STBCExporter.dlu

Ok this might be a stupid question, but what do you need HPs for? Dont you just put the XYZ co-ordinates for everything into the .py scripting?

For the no textures prob in the MPE, try saving the textures separatly, you should be able to do this, I'm not sure that the SDK plugin supports textures in the NIF properly.

I had the illegal operation problem, make sure the NetImmerse plugin is uninstalled, before you put the SDK .dlu plugin in the directory.
