My step Grandfather is in the hospital for the third time in two weeks. He is having severe fluid retention problems. I won't get into the details since the worst swelling is occuring in the legs and groin.
They have him on diuretics and they seem to be working. He has voided some of the fluid out and thus his swelling is going down.
Again, though, this has been the third time in 2 months that he has been in the hospital for this problem. He has Cor Pulmanale, the worst form of Congestive Heart Failure. On top of that, he's a diabetic and a chain smoker.
Please pray for him to get better and to quit smoking. The doctors have told him to quit but he is being stubborn and won't.
EDIT: Googled Cor Pulmanale so I could get the spelling correct.
How is praying gona make him stop smoking? Divine intervention my arse... you gota get in there and shake him up a lil.
edit: Sorry if im coming across as being a bit cold, but trust me praying doesnt do sh!t.
Not true Sinister One. Not true.
Your opinion is noted and I don't mind it at all, but you could at least show some sympathy for my grandfather.
I would die without my life.

I sincerely wishes all the best for your grandfather, but people rarely change by themselves when they're old. I'm sure he's fully aware of what he's doing to himself without being able to change it. The help and the support of his family will now matter more than ever. Try to shake him to open his eyes. The time to pray will come after if you've failed.
I didn't make it!
I feel for you Kyle as I just lost my grandfather a week ago, but Sinister is partially right. While I personally belive in a God and that praying might very well help in some cases, if he is a chain smoker it won't last for long. I hope he gets better, and I hope you can somehow get him to stop smoking.
God bless you guys :)
You and him are in my prayers.
Thank you very much.
I hope he gets well soon, he'll be in my thoughts and prayers.
My grandparents are all of a sudden having problems, too. My grandfather has prostate cancer and something else is wrong, he's coughing a lot ... and my grandmother also has her own problems. I wish they'd gone to a hospital before, but they really try to go out of their way to not go to a hospital. They live all the way up in Long Island, so I can't really visit them.
I know what your feeling Killer. :(
