£17,000,000 minimum.

Seriously though, I couldn't give you a figure. The south of Britain is almost universally more expensive to live in than the north of Britain.

Better still.. Don't come to Britian. It rains a lot, and floods, and there are a lot of knife crimes about at the moment. Tax is too high, and the government are a bunch of screwed up twats that really don't know what is best for this country. Did I mention it rains a lot?

But if they are "coming" to Britain, they are immigrants, so the government will bend over backwards not to upset them.

knife crimes always been a proble. only the police are actually doing something radical about it. its probably worse in other countries. at least we dont have 60 year olds locking their daughters up in basements :lookaround:

You can feed a family of four for thirty pounds a week easily enough, (a couple of years ago it was twenty but prices have gone up with the fuel costs,) provided you don't become excessively extravagant and do all your own cooking. This does basically mean buying ASDA or whatever own brand on almost everything though.

It really depends what sort of equipment you have access to. A freezer will cut the cost of living massively by allowing you to scale the same sort of economy down to the individual level, cooking in bulk and then freezing your meals.

The real problem is meat, expensive as anything down here. Still you can make a chicken last a fortnight if you're inventive.

Edit: Though that said if you happen to work for the public services in some way or another you can join Costco, don't know if the other places like that allow you to, and buy your stuff at the industry prices rather than what the industry sells them to you for which knocks a lot off things like that though.

Never Surrender;4567951But arent they usually paid a bit more.

Not that much more. Council tax alone more than levels the wage differences in a lot of areas.

Seriously you want to live in the South it's gonna cost you. Why do you think I go to university in Scotland?
