Der All,

I apologise if this question has been asked before, or if i am posting it in the wrong place.

Its all well and good to be able to install new ships into BC, but unless i am missing somthing really odvious, it seems really hard to remove them...

my question is how do i remove ships from BC?

no doubt this is the dumbest question ever.

Thanks

Just revert to the backup you made before installing the ship, Pick out the ship installation from your BC, or use BCMP to remove the entry in the QB (it still leaves the files in though)

Other than that it is really hard.

its actually very easy to remove a ship....first make sure you know the real name ....just go through your data/models/ships folder.......find the ship you want rid of........copy the name of the folder.....do a search in the entire Bridge Commander folder for files of that name.......I use effective file search, but you could use the windows search feature.....make sure ther are no cross-referenced files (files belomging to other ships with similar names).......then just delete the files...........I do it all the time.

But always back up your scripts folder before doing anything.I just right click on the folder and make a rar-back-up

Its Simple. All you have to do is use bcmp. first disable the ship and then once its under the heading disabled ships delete it

That works but the ship files are still there........to really get rid of the ship you have to delete the files.......my BC folder is 2 gigs on its own partition..........getting rid of useless files helps

Isolar, I believe my comment 'Pick out the ship installation from your BC' covers what you said in your first post' which is a pain if you don't know what you're doing. and has the potential to screw the entire BC installation.

As idontknow and I pointed out, its best to use BCMP to remove it if you're not happy deleting files from you're BC.

Open your plugins.py (there's gotta me one or an autoload.py somewhere) and find the import line for your ship and stick a number sign in front of it. that will disable it. Helpfull when you got a bad one. Always add one ship at a time too, that way ya know which it is that's bad.

I'm glad you brought that up. It's best to install ship mods "one at a time". Also Mod packs will hurt you if they were not packaged well. I installed one of Unimatrix One's mod packs, one of the "big" ones. And one of the files was bad. I had to sift threw nearly 30 ship mods to find the Problem.
