This is a sad day for metal...Ronnie James Dio passed away this morning after a tough battle with stomach cancer. :(
I'm not the poetic type, so I'll let Tenacious D give him a better salute than I ever could:

Oh God, I heard the reports last night he was dead. I was glad to find out he wasn't. I played Dio all day.
Now, I find this. Wearing my Dio shirt tomorrow, and playing nothing but Dio all day. A piece of Metal died today, the Holy Diver stayed down too long in the midnight sea, the rainbow in the dark has faded. Requiescat in pace, amici.

Devastating news. This is indeed a big loss in the world of Metal. May he rest in peace, he will be missed.

RIP RJD. A man among men, and one helluva vocalist. The world of metal is a far lesser place without him.

I saw this on Yahoo when they published the article. As soon as I did I got on YouTube to see if people had started posting about his death yet. :(

Throw up your horns, he was truly a God of metal.
I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Cooters on fire off the shoulder of General Discussion. I watched spittle-flecked posts glitter in the dark near the Pub. All those moments will

Damn... He was the king of metal for me. I was really excited when he formed his new band (Heaven & Hell) last year, i was hoping for more awesome albums... :(
This a truly a sad day for the music world. Rainbow In The Dark and The Last In Line are probably two of my favorite songs ever, along with Neon Knights and Voodoo from his black sabbath days.

My mom's got an autographed T-shirt with Dio's signature on it.
