Well, whilst in a composition lesson, apparently the wire was on the right side of my cup of water. I tried to adjust my laptop to the left and the water came splashing down on the chair and laptop. :(
Luckily, I saved my music files, however this still fucking blows. The only thing I know to do is leave it upside down on a paper towel for three days to let it dry out. I did a quick diagnostics and every test passes except the harddrive one (it isn't recognized). Any suggestions?

Don't spill water onto complex and expensive electronic devices?

Try formating the HD.

Excellent place to start. Once you have everything dried out, try booting again. If that fails, boot from your Windows disk and try to format. You'll lose all the data on the hard drive, of course, but I gather you've backed up what you need most.
If that fails, then worst case...get a new hard drive. Thankfully, hard drives are one of the user-swappable components on most laptops. I'm actually considering upgrading mine soon.
Exactly what laptop do you have?

I think advising against pouring water into complex and expensive electronic devices is extremely relevant advice, if a little post-helpful. =p
You could use a hair dryer to dry it out.
My first laptop went through many a juice/pop/water spills as I had it for 5 years and it still chugs along.
Albeit only running on 256 mb of ram now instead of 512 and no sound / AC power power connection issues / wireless net no longer works.
Just let it try and hope for the best :)
Well, it dried out and works like a charm again! :)
All of that fretting for naught.
