Perhaps, but there are so many more and better ways to calm oneself. I think kids are becoming too dependent on games these days for entertainment and "relaxation". :uhm:

Grim_GromNo it's true, they made g-strings for 5 year olds. In my opinion, I think what you define a "kid" as is the answer to the Question. I don't think an 8 year old should play GTA: San Andreas. But I think a 14 year old should. I think once someone reaches there teens, then age ratings blend and there's no real problem with playing an 18 or a 15/16 when your only 14. In all honesty almost every game I own is 15 or 16+. And I find games stress releiving rather than making me want to kill someone.

I agree. I mean the things u hear in San Andreas are just like stuff that you hear at school with the language.

Since age 9 i've been playing violant video games, let me tell you something...your life changes DRASTICLY!!! You find yourself acting like a diferant person.

The reason games were made is to fead the ppls hunger for a challenge, once that happenes there a lot more ..."in the mood"

yes, i believe the rating are very important. i think most parents just dont know or pay attention to what their kids are doing nowadays. keeping adult games away from then, assures us alult gamers that more adult games will be made, because we dont have to worry about kids seeing that sort of thing.

personally, i let both of my kids 5 and 2 plat GTA. thaey have a lot of fun driving around and blowing up. they know it is make believe, because i have explained that to them and i sit with them while they play. its when people do these things in real life, thats when you have a problem. there is nothing in that game that my daughter wont see on TV. and believe me, even though she is five, she knows the difference between reality and fantasy. anyone who goes berserk and blames it on a game is just a loser looking to pass the blame. if my kids turn into psycos, then ill consider it my fault, not anything they saw on tv, or i did in a game. that is just irresponsible. most parents dont play games with their kids though. so we need ratings to let them know which games are "adult". that way, we wont have to worry about Timmy using GTA as an excuse to set the cat on fire.

Just how much can a 16 year old mature on his birthday from the day before? Maturity does not have anything to do with age, it just depends on what kind of person they are... some 'kids' understand that the game is just a game and nothing more... but then there are others who play these games and end up sleeping with all the lights on because they are frightened to death of the stuff they had saw on the game... I'm sixteen, but my parents purchase M-Rated games for me and let me play them... Now some M-Rated games are just a sad excuse to get violence in the minds of people, but others are war-based... about things that actually happened in history... I think 'kids' should know about the hard-ships that our country has faced in war... but not the violence and crap that exists only in the minds of retards...!!! -"But hey, that's just my opinion!" Roadtrip, I agree with you completely. I'd like to see how the average American kid would fare on the streets of Iraq. :uhm:

yes, kids are going to get it anyways. It's not games that make kids do stupid shit. Its usually other people. Unless they do have problems, but thats not the gaming industry's fault. I say if you have the money you should be able to buy it.
