When I joined this forum almost a year ago it was full of active members and their posts. Now, I can go to a popular thread I posted on 3 days before and it remains untouched. Whats happening?

The place has quietened down. It's been this way for a while now. There are still forum regulars, but many of the older members have since moved on, and the forums don't seem to bring in new members as easily as they once did.
I don't know about everyone, but I came by these forums through a network site ~ I would imagine most others did too. Network sites appear to be dying themselves. With the lack of new ones, people buying newer games aren't going to know of this place (as there isn't anything for them here).
There is also the change in business. The guys at the top have changed around a few times in recent years and seem to be focused on other things more than they are on the network sites and forums.
Just my opinion, but an explanation that seems to make sense of the situation.

Pretty much what Alakazam said.
I don't know what's keeping the management from adding new network sites, though. The only thing I can imagine is the process of adding one being a hassle.
Over the course of these years, quite some nice games have been released that were friendly to user-created content. Prime examples would be Fable TLC and Fable 3.
I hope this place gets back the majority of its activity. It'd be a shame if that's not the case, so let's hope for the best and put some faith in the management. :)

Adding a network site through the current system is tremendously tedious.
Also, as for activity, it's also beginning of the school year for many of our visitors. Activity always takes a dip around this time.
We haven't forgotten about the network sites/forums. We have plans in the works to bring both a bit more integrated into the main site itself thus, easily and readily accessible to most of our visitors. I know, it sounds canned.. but it's actually true. :)

Yeah, the latest games are becoming too hard to mod and given that this is primarily a modding community, getting new members is hard. But hey, you got us! Shit, n0e ninja'ing me.

Even so look at the popularity of the avergae forum over the past few years, activity is slipping on forums (obviously the escapist and 4chan etc will stay alive). Forums are a bit old fashioned these days.
I have been on a couple of forums before FF and they too were high in activity but are now COMPLETELY dead. Even the Minecraft forum is losing activity.
Plus what doesn't help is people returning, seeing none of their old mates or whatever and instantly leaving again. Because if you don't stay, then somebody else won't stay and so on.

Current youth does not appreciate the wonders of forums and tend to stay out of them, either that or they join them and brings a lot of crappy thread, talking out of experience from other forums that are still active with new members but where most of them are dumb kids.
It's sad to see the forum becoming less active of course but at least there's still some activity to keep us entertained eh? :3

I'm not sure about anyone else, but I'm on a few forums now and they seem to get more activity a day than this one does a week (if you don't include the spam forum=p).
Another one of these fucking threads? Haven't there been like 3? Stop complaining about the activity, it got old awhile ago.
