Mr. MattUh... huh...

I have an even better rule for you to use. Nobody can dance to any music that they didn't write and perform themselves! It's a bit more extreme perhaps, but it doesn't sound quite so ignorant or racist.

Proms :vikki:. Our school tried to host a dance every year in a similar style, but the only people who went to it were considered lame. The rest of us went to much more entertaining events organised by the students themselves. Only in America would it be considered 'cool' to take your girlfriend on a date to your school!

You silly, stilly Englishman. Prom isn't about dancing, it's about getting laid.

LocomotorThe world be a better place if everyone listened to jazz.

I'll toast to that.

Slap on some Count Basie, Art Blakey, and Joshua Redman!

In my opinion, I think that every type of music has its place in the world. There are times to get crunk, classy, jazzy, cheesy, etc...

We kill it when there is no other solutions, warnings and clean ups are better. Besides funfunfun, a change of topic or relaxed posts is not bad. Spam is and this isn't exactly spam.

I hate the stuff, but I won't ban it or hate the people who listen to it. It is sad when you go to a dance and %99 of the music they play is rap. I went to one dance and out of 150+ songs all but 2 were rap/hip-hop. I would have asked for something else, but when "other" music came up my date would take me off the dance floor, and we would sit the song out becuase she did not like it.

I rember some the dances in 7th and 8th grade they would play a mix of everything and I enjoyed it. They did not play any real bad stuff since it was a catholic school:p. Grinding (back then there was no such thing) would have gotten you thrown out of the dance. Now the little freshmen brag about how many girls they ground with at church sponsored danced:lol:.

Prom in the US is a big thing. Where else can you go with 150 friends to get something to eat, and dance untill 5am?

Simply look at this. Rap and Hip-Hop are now part of our times. You just have to live with it.

Yes, but rock is far better^.^ Anyhoo, many people like rap. Let them dance to their music. Afterparties, you can listen to whatever music you want. I am kinda annoyed by the repetivie formula of rap songs. Some rock songs are similar-sounding, but the majority of rap from the last 15 years sounds the same to me. (MC Hammer FTW!)
