I mean no offense towards anyone, but I find that there is a general lack of empathy here, everyone seems to think only though the ideas in which they believe. While that is fine, there needs to be an understanding of others. Without being impartial what we choose the hear from others is obviously going to be biased towarsd our own ideas. As a result nothing new is truly learned, and it can thus be said you have chosen to be voluntarily ignorant. I have always believed that is the lowest "state" anything can achieve, and it would be really good if we could all try and change this. A short story, if you will: One day two friends were walking by a river. "Look at the fish swimming about," said the first friend, "They are really enjoying themselves."
“You are not a fish," replied the other, "So you can't truly know that they are enjoying themselves."
“You are not me," said the the first friend, "So how can you saythat I do not know that the fish are enjoying themselves?" I find that too often we are usually one friend or the other. One believes they know what others are thinking, or completely understand what they are trying to say. The other is always skeptical and never really trys to open his mind to the infinite number of things that could have made his friend make such a statement. Now, I won't get into the ideal utopia, as that would take up quite a few pages, but I will briefly describe what I would believe to be beneficial to our relationshiops on this forum. First nothing should ever be taken at face value. Communication between people is in essence worthless. Not all of us think in words, and we therefore have no way of communicating what we truly are thinking. Worsd simply do not convey the tones, colors, and depth of our thoughts, you simply cannot have a spoken spectrum like that. Thoughts are not "definite", they never have corresponding words. Even if there were, it would be like the color spectrum in Photoshop, it would simply be too limiting as each color has to be represented by a definite pixel, and you simply cannot comprehend of an infinte number of pixels and combinations which still would be a definite amount. I would continue, and perhaps I will again some day, but in the end I would like us to stop thinking we really know what is going on. It simply is arrogant to suggest that we can learn so much when in essence each one of us is a small pixel which can only hold so much on a canvas that is infintely large and filled with so many other pixels just like ourselves... As one final note, I know this post is filled with contradictions, but again, language is so limiting when it comes to even trying to express the most basic of thoughts. With this I bid you a good night.
who cares, just try to have a good time.
or if your not having a good time then try taking a vacation like it did.
Just enjoy Gaming Forums. Like Cambo said, have a good time here. In the grand scheme of things, does it really matter if people make a great effort to empathize? I hope that GF is a place where you don't need to worry about things like that if you don't want to. Gaming Forums isn't the 'real world'.

Sorry, but I'm not a 'pixel'. I am a real, flesh and blood, person sitting right here, right now, in front of my computer. At any time, I can click an X in the top right corner of the screen, and then I will still be here, on earth.
I don't want to sound arrogant either, but I really hope you can relax here on GF and not have to worry about some of the problems of today's times. I agree that some people seem to be narrow-minded, but (and I don't like to use this word, but it fits best at the moment) lecturing the members of GF on what they should try to do when online seems to be taking this thing a little too far.
damn too much to read... and its too late... the part i read looked good... i'll finish reading it when im no longer tired... srry i guess that means i wont be able to read it
Apparently this has been lost on everyone. I was using the pixel figuratively.
As for what I was going to say, it has become pointless. The forums were but a small example that I used. If people wish to remain consciously hypocritical in their existance at all times, by all means let them. At least I have found a balance between peace and chaos, even if no one else wishes to hear me out.
Well, if what you write really applies to most people on these forums you should know that they won't change :)

If people don't bother with empathy there is just no communication in place. Communication is vital to the collective. Without it nothing will work and the balance between chaos and order will be tipped and no longer will there be harmony among the two. Now if I may go back to the pixel/picture analogy. A digital image in its entirety directs your attention in a way to make you percience what you are seeing as one thing. For that to work you have to have harmony among the pixels to have everything work together to create the whole. Now, if you look at the individual pixels you will see a unique dot of color. However, alone they have no purpose and are essentially worthless. They only become something when joined with all the other pixels. If they cannot work together, such as making smooth transitions in color to avoid contrasts which creates disturbances, they are brought down back to that status of being isolated and worthless. With what was said above, that is why I believe that society should find a balance between self-sufficiency and reliance on others. If people cannot learn to be self-sufficient they cannot succeed in this society because they have nothing to contribute. That is why I believe that people should learn to find themselves through a sort of isolation before trying to join a community. Of course you cannot exist forever in that state as you also need to take from others. If you can't accept the knowledge that others possess, you aren't going to go anywhere and eventually be that worthless, isolated pixel. I have found that simply sitting in a forest has been extremely effective when trying to think. A forest is just one type of biome where you can see all of those "pixels" and the "picture" at the same time. You can see the individual creatures and objects interacting. A squirrel climbs a tree, for example. At the same time you can see everything going on at once which makes up that ecosystem. The air blowing through the trees providing them with life, in turn giving the squirrels a place to climb and find food in return giving the predators food, etc. The entire process works in one single action of simply being. As a side note it is interesting to see how everything seems to exist as a pixel and picture at once. Even in the simplest things that exist have that property. A rock for example is made up of multiple minerals which are made up of atoms which are made up of even smaller things. In the rocks case everything "smaller" than it makes the rock, or in the analogy, the picture. However, the rock also becomes the pixel. The rock is just one thing among others such as soil, water, etc which makes up a landscape. That landscape is home to many types of ecosystems and communities. While these communities don’t have physical boundaries, they do change even over infinitely small measurements of space. This may seem to contradict my pixel/picture belief in that a pixel is made of a definite size. However, you still must remember what is within that space in the pixel. It isn’t just color, the color is influenced by light. Color simply cannot exist without light, but it could be argued that light cannot survive without color to define it.
Again, it is all about the mutually beneficial relationships between everything. Each individual relationship influences others, and soon it becomes a web of relationships, whether direct or indirect.
You think to much
The best way to spend "free time" is through thinking and meditating. If I did not I would no longer be able to participate in utopia.
