Strange but true. The Ripley’s believe it or not thread! Ok, this is the thread for all you smart guys and gals who know something…or think you know something. Post it here! Reason being. Don’t take someone’s word to be factual, look it up. Recently, had a debate with some of my weirdo colleagues who swore up and down that the fax technology was derived from some “alien” technology we got from the alleged Roswell Crash – whatever:rolleyes:. Even though I told them the how and when they still tend to cling to their theory…kinda like Religion. Anywho, just so you folks know it was an adaptation of Samuel Morse’s telegraph system. Alexander Bain invented and received a patent for the fax machine in 1843…but unfortunately the phone communication era had not arrived and nobody was interested. Several adaptations/modifications were applied to this technology and in 1947 Alexander Muirhead successfully created and demonstrated the fax machine as it is used today, again however, no one saw a practical use for it. It wasn’t until the communication boom of the 1980’s that the fax machine finally took off and idiots like I work with assumed it was alien technology:smack:.

Cats are interesting creatures. I used to have a cat that would literally climb up the wall to the ceiling and “cry” to get down, but never sh’t itself. Your cat has issues. Incidentally, want to know why cats can survive a 30-story fall and not 9-story fall? At 30 stories a cat’s panic response diminishes and the cat relaxes allowing flexibility when it hits the ground – that’s not to say it won’t get hurt but it’s chances of survival are far greater. At 9 stories the cat is panicking and with all its muscles ridged it hits the ground like glass.

ok, agreed, we'll stop the discussion about crapping cats=p and how prominent detectives would handle it, but you have to admit it was worth a laugh!
