I'm sure I'm not the only one here who went somewhere on holiday this summer. We didn't go far - the Kalkalpen, or Limestone Alps in Upper Austria, hiking in the mountains. We were very lucky with the weather and it was generally very enjoyable, although rather exhausting as well. Here are some of hundreds of pictures I took.
Some amazing views we enjoyed.
I've rarely seen such lush, thick vegetation. Everything was moist and fertile.
More scenic views.
This is one of the places we stayed at. Notice the absence of electrical- and telephone lines. There was no wireless coverage, either. The only equipment they had that couldn't have been around a hundred years ago was the generator-powered milking machine, to comply with EU regulations.
We saw a lot of these.
Mapcat examines a map.
This starts as a rapid mountain creek, and develops into a wider, slower stream further down. We had a pleasant picnic by its shores.
The last place we stayed at was situated above a highland moor, something I didn't know existed in this region.
Another place we stayed at. I'm on the far left.
Anyone who has good vacation pics/stories, post them!
very nice pics
meh, didnt go anywhere this summer. but those are some really beautiful pics, where are you in the last one?
We were in front of a fairly modern lodge that we had spent the night at, just getting ready to hike on. If you meant which person I am, I'm the furthest to the left.
